Dr. Kimberly Hassen – Anesthesia
About Kimberly Hassen MA DVM CVA DACVAA

Dr. Hassen was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She earned her DVM from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. She went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital and a three-year residency in anesthesiology at North Carolina State University. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2019. She is also certified in acupuncture.
Dr. Hassen has particular interests in locoregional anesthesia and other opioid-sparing pain management techniques. She is extremely passionate about keeping her patients calm, comfortable, and well-fed throughout their hospital stay.
Outside of work, Dr. Hassen is working on becoming fluent in French. Her pets include a tuxedo cat named Mr. Sandwiches and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – Hammy and Cheezy – who are collectively referred to as The Lunchables.
