Glacier National Park, located in northwestern Montana on the Canadian border, is a 1 million-acre wilderness known as the "Crown of the Continent".  Established in 1910, it features dramatic U-shaped valleys, 130+ named lakes, alpine meadows, and 25 active glaciers. The park is famous for the 50-mile Going-to-the-Sun Road, diverse wildlife (including grizzly bears), and extensive hiking trails.
