About Pete Fernandes, DVM, DACVP

Pete Fernandes

Dr. Pete Fernandes completed his DVM at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by an internship in small-animal medicine and surgery at South Shore Animal Hospitals in Boston. Dr. Fernandes’ residency was in clinical pathology at Texas A&M University and the University of Florida. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists since 1999. Working with IDEXX laboratories for over 19 years has allowed him a range of experiences. Pete provides clinical pathology diagnostic support to over 15 laboratories representing all regions of the United States and England; in addition to collaborating on a number of projects with IDEXX Research & Development and as an educator for IDEXX medical affairs, creating and presenting continuing education for veterinarians. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in veterinary medicine. In his free time, Pete enjoys traveling with his wife Jocelyn, gardening, tennis, and hiking or mountain biking throughout the peaks of Southern California.
