Dr. Pete Fernandes – Clinical Pathology
About Pete Fernandes, DVM, DACVP
Dr. Pete Fernandes completed his DVM at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by an internship in small-animal medicine and surgery at South Shore Animal Hospitals in Boston. Dr. Fernandes’ residency was in clinical pathology at Texas A&M University and the University of Florida. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists since 1999. Working with IDEXX laboratories for over 24 years has allowed him a range of experiences. Pete provides clinical pathology diagnostic support to over 15 laboratories representing all regions of the United States, Canada and United Kingdom; in addition to collaborating on a number of projects with IDEXX Research & Development and as an educator for IDEXX medical affairs, creating and presenting continuing education for veterinarians. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in veterinary medicine. In his free time, Pete enjoys traveling with his wife Jocelyn, running in trail races, and hiking through the swamps of Florida.
