About Sarah M. Schmid, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)

Dr. Sarah Schmid earned her DVM at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014, after which she completed a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to complete a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine (SAIM) at the University of Tennessee. After three years in private practice as an intern co-director, Sarah joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a clinical instructor. In 2022, she joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee. Sarah enjoys teaching and integrating physiology into the clinical practice of veterinary medicine. Dedicated to advancing veterinary education, she is enthusiastic about developing innovative teaching methods to enhance clinical education and has a strong interest in studying pedagogy. Her other research interests include chronic gastrointestinal disorders and states of hypoalbuminemia.
