Dr. Jessica Johnson – Dentistry

Dr. Johnson is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College and an AVDC^®Founding Fellow in Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (OMFM).

She grew up in Southlake, Texas. She graduated with honors from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She dedicated the first ten years of her career to small animal general practice, where she acquired valuable experience in both companion animal day practice and emergency medicine. Driven by her passion for dentistry, Dr. Johnson completed a dental residency under Dr. Heidi Lobprise, DVM, DAVDC in 2020.

In 2025, Dr. Johnson was accepted as a fellow for the Thomas P. Sollecito One Health Fellowship in Oral Medicine. The Fellowship is designed to support the One Health concept between Oral Medicine specialists at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine. This designation highlights her clinical and research expertise in Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (OMFM). An active contributor to her field, she has authored and coauthored three OMFM articles for the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry and has written multiple chapters across three prominent veterinary dentistry textbooks.

Dr. Johnson is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to pets in North Texas. She emphasizes the importance of evaluating each case individually, recognizing that many patients may face multiple health challenges yet can still safely undergo necessary procedures to relieve pain and infection. Her approach involves thoroughly assessing the health of her patients and collaborating with pet owners to develop the most effective treatment plans. A strong advocate for dental education, Dr. Johnson teaches a monthly wet lab she designed to help early-career veterinarians build confidence and skills in oral surgery.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Johnson is a devoted mother to three children, a spirited shepherd-mix named Biscuit, and a pampered King Charles Cavalier Spaniel named Betty. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, running, spending quality time with her family, and traveling.
