Dentistry

Kristin Scott DVM, DAVDC

Dr. Kristin Scott, a native of New York, received her Biology degree from Cornell University and her Veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota. After 3 years at a small animal and exotics practice in NYC, Dr. Scott spent the next 13 years at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, a premier, multi-specialty referral hospital in New Jersey. She completed her residency in Veterinary Dentistry through the University of Pennsylvania while directing the Dentistry department at Red Bank, and in 2015 became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC). As a Diplomate, Dr. Scott has earned the designation of Veterinary Dental Specialist, of which there are approximately 225 worldwide.  In 2021 she received the AVDC Presidential Medal for Stewardship in recognition of her volunteerism and dedication to the specialty of veterinary dentistry.  As an experienced lecturer and wet lab instructor, Dr. Scott loves that teaching enables her to impact the health of not only her own patients, but the patients of her students as well. She has served as a locum Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota Veterinary College, co-authored multiple papers and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Scott performs a wide variety of dental and oral surgery procedures and has a special interest in advanced periodontal surgery and bone grafting.  She is the founder and CEO of CROWN • Veterinary Dental Specialists of Charlotte, a dental and oral surgery specialty hospital and training service.  When not in the hospital or volunteering, she loves spending time with her family and baking new recipes for her very rapidly growing sons.

Anesthesia

Katie Bennett DVM, DACVAA

Katie Bennett is an anesthesiologist at Veterinary Specialty Center, a large referral hospital in the Chicagoland area. Dr. Bennett did her undergraduate and veterinary school training at Purdue University, followed by a Small Animal Rotating Internship at Washington State University and an Anesthesia Residency at the University of Tennessee. She is passionate about providing tools and resources for the veterinary community in regards to anesthesia and pain management. Her professional interests include brachycephalic dog anesthesia, opioid-free anesthetic techniques, and aggressive patient management. Dr. Bennett also loves to read, bake, and spend time with her 3 dogs: 2 Australian shepherds and one chihuahua. She is also currently training for the 2024 Chicago Marathon.
